Band

Creativity- music
Action- marching
Service- entertainment at games, support for the football team, playing for the community for parades, concerts, etc.

Band is an extra-curricular activity that is very important to me. In band, I have acheived many learning outcomes, such as: "Increased awareness of my own strengths and areas of growth," "Undertaking New Challenges," "Worked Collaboratively with Others," "Shown perseverance and commitment in my activities" and "Developed New Skills." Because I am a drill leader in band, I had to develop leadership skills that I never knew I had. It was a huge challenge because I am not usually perceived as a very outspoken person because of my small size and voice, so I had to overcome these challenges in order to succeed as a drill leader to the best of my ability. I have worked colloaboratively with my other fellow drill leaders in order to discusss problems in the band and how to solve them. In addition to this, I have definately shown commitment to this activity because there were many times when I felt like giving up, but it would be hard to give it up because band is such a huge part of what I have become to this day.
